Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken Fries:

2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips

½ cup all-purpose flour

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

¼ cup Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra crispiness)

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon salt

Cooking spray or olive oil spray

For Dipping (Optional):

Ketchup

Honey mustard

Spicy mayo

Ranch dressing

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  1. Slice chicken breasts into thin, even strips, about ½ inch thick.
  2. Pat them dry with a paper towel to help the coating stick better.

Step 2: Set Up the Breading Station

  1. In one bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. In a second bowl, beat eggs until smooth.
  3. In a third bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs with Parmesan cheese for extra crunch.

Step 3: Coat the Chicken Fries

  1. Dip each chicken strip into the flour mixture, coating evenly.
  2. Next, dunk it into the egg wash to fully cover.
  3. Finally, press it firmly into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring every side is coated.

Step 4: Preheat the Air Fryer

  1. Set your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) and let it preheat for 3 minutes.

Step 5: Cook the Chicken Fries

  1. Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray.
  2. Arrange the breaded chicken fries in a single layer to allow for even cooking.
  3. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  4. Chicken fries are done when they are golden brown and crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy!

  1. Let the chicken fries cool for 2 minutes before serving.
  2. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ketchup, honey mustard, or spicy mayo.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, lightly spray the coated chicken fries with oil before air frying.
  • Make it spicy! Add ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mix for a spicy kick.
  • Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Reheating: Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 4–5 minutes to keep them crispy.
